Pre-order - Onyx Odile Embroidered Headband

  • Swan Lake embroidered headband

Kate Gwilliam and Mille Saisons have teamed up to bring you a limited collection of embroidered silk accessories inspired by the classic ballet Swan Lake.

This headband is inspired by the traditional Swan Lake feathered headdresses and features two gold embroidered feathers.

Your headband will be embroidered to order by Kate before it is sent to Jo to be turned in your finished accessories. Pre orders will close on 7th June and your eye headband will be ready to be posted out to you between 16th June and 7th July.

With a beautiful sheen, stretch silk satin has got to be the softest way to hold your hair back either on casual days or to bring something extra to an evening outfit. An elastic strap covered with silk satin holds the hair band comfortably onto your head.

Kate uses a vintage Singer 102w107 sewing machine to create her embroideries. This is commonly referred to as an Irish Embroidery and Kate’s machine is called Suzy. Each embroidered piece is created entirely freehand on the machine, using the needle as her pen and moving the fabric around to create the design, the machine is particularly special as it has a knee pedal, as well as a conventional foot pedal, which allows Kate to adjust the width of the satin stitch as she is sewing. Doing this type of free motion, free hand embroidery means that each one has slight differences which make them even more unique.

Approximately 8cm or 3 1/8” wide and 50cm or 19 6/8” long stretching to 60cm or 23 6/8”. Our headbands are designed to have a more snug fit to stop the silk from slipping. If you need a different size or fit, please email for custom size options.

94% Silk, 6% Spandex. We use a silk spandex mix because it has a better handle and a little extra stretch which makes a more durable fabric. We recommend a gentle hand wash.
