Easy Halloween Costumes You Can Re-Wear All Year

Love Halloween, hate buying too many costume pieces you won’t re-wear? Trust me, you’ll want to keep wearing your Mille Saisons silk accessories so I’m bringing you some easy Halloween costume ideas to work with garments you might already have or are already on your investment piece list! Using garments you already have or will continue to wear after spooky season makes your costume much more sustainable. Search for character who already share your sense of style to make conscious fancy dress even easier!

There are so many Disney Princesses who wear hair accessories but I had to include my favourite! Belle's winter pink dress is probably the more unusual choice than the classic gold ballgown but it’s actually my favourite!

Selkie has beautiful gowns you’ll definitely want to love and wear forever. Add a length of red velvet tied into a cloak and our Rose Petal Euphrasie hair bow (bonus points for a rose, magic mirror and beast!) and you will be the belle of the ball.

With vintage fashions already in style, it wouldn't be a strange thing if you already had most pieces in your wardrobe to channel Eleven. Team a bright retro shirt with Lucy & Yak high waisted jeans and add a scrunchie for an easy El costume. Take it even further with a fake blood nosebleed!

If you want to go full princess for Halloween, then a Teuta Matoshi gown will definitely fulfil your all your full blown ballgown dreams.

Whether you choose soft silver like Cinderella in the film or dreamy blues as she is usually shown in merchandising (apparently as blue was easier to market) Mille Saisons has a headband to match. These headbands are designed to be easy to fold to give you a wider or narrower headband so are simple to fold for Cinderella’s thinner headband and are available in pale blue and pale grey. Add our classic black silk choker (even softer on your neck than regular ribbon) and don't forget your shoes!

Not all about ballgowns? Cinderella’s rags are easy to recreate with simple basics you probably already own- just pair a midi skirt with layered tops and add our Champagne Silk Audrey Headscarf.

Ashley Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air offers even more retro styling options. Sure Hilary is known for her chic 90s style but Ashley has some adorable outfits too. If you’ve got denim dungarees or a denim dress then you are mostly there! Add a 90s style top (bonus points if you add a plaid shirt tied around your waist) and a large scrunchie 😊

(I hope I don’t need to add this caveat but no making your skin darker for Halloween costumes. Blackface is not hot at Halloween or any other time of year)

If you have a classic red or black mini dress, you are just one statement collar and headband away from Sabrina. The end of the series might have felt a bit flat, but your costume won’t be! Afterwards, your dress stays in your autumn outfit rotation, your silk collar will elevate all of your old jumpers into the new season and your headband is cute all year round (and can even double as a luxe way to keep your hair back during your face cleansing!)
