Kate Gwilliam and Mille Saisons have teamed back up to bring you a new collection of embroidered silk eye masks inspired by the classic ballet Swan Lake.  We first made these back in 2020 and having become my most requested restocks, they are back with Kate’s new embroidery machine and my new, bigger eye mask size to give the embroidery more space to shine.
 
This eye mask features two graceful embroidered swans in white and gold under a crescent moon.
 
Your eye mask will be embroidered to order by Kate before it is sent to Jo to be turned in your finished eye mask. Pre orders will close on 14th August and your eye mask will be ready to be posted out to you between 28th August and 11th September.
 
Kate uses a vintage Singer 102w107 sewing machine to create her embroideries. This is commonly referred to as an Irish Embroidery and Kate’s machine is called Suzy. Each embroidered piece is created entirely freehand on the machine, using the needle as her pen and moving the fabric around to create the design, the machine is particularly special as it has a knee pedal, as well as a conventional foot pedal, which allows Kate to adjust the width of the satin stitch as she is sewing. Doing this type of free motion, free hand embroidery means that each one has slight differences which make them even more unique.

Mille Saisons silk eye masks use a double layer of cotton padding before each mask is then handstitched closed and packaged in your choice of tissue paper, a Mille Saisons branded drawstring dust bag or Mille Saisons gift box.

94% Silk, 6% Elastane, 19 momme

We use a stretch silk satin with small amount of elastane as it allows for extra stretch and movement and it tends to fray less too for even more durable accessories.
